Buying a Car

Looking to upgrade to a new car? When you roll off the lot with your new ride, you will have the protection of Tennessee's Lemon Law for one year after purchase. If your vehicle has a serious mechanical or safety defect, the manufacturer is required to make three reasonable attempts to fix the damage. If they cannot fix it, or if the car is out of service for 30 days, you can move forward with the lemon process. Some manufacturers have informal dispute resolution procedures, and in those cases, you must go through that process first. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you can file a lawsuit to receive a refund or replacement vehicle.
